La rave a de beaux jours devant elle avec l\u2019arriv\u00e9e de la tornade Cuften. Viking-geek passionn\u00e9 de machines et de bidouillages sonores, le producteur normand s\u2019amuse \u00e0 d\u00e9construire l\u2019esth\u00e9tique rave et les sons old school avec sa vision futuriste et singuli\u00e8re. DJ depuis l\u2019adolescence, Cuften a d\u2019abord commenc\u00e9 dans les free party, avant de collectionner les vieux synth\u00e9tiseurs et de bricoler ses propres outils de production pour livrer une musique qui vient de ses tripes : spontan\u00e9e, frontale et 100% analogique, \u00e0 l\u2019image de ses lives machines qu\u2019il orchestre avec une \u00e9nergie d\u00e9bordante, camoufl\u00e9 derri\u00e8re sa chevelure mouvante au gr\u00e9 de ses snares, kicks et drums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il se fait rapidement une place dans la sc\u00e8ne underground parisienne, avec l\u2019appui d\u2019artistes comme Manu Le Malin, Umwelt, 14 Anger et en enflammant les dancefloors des lieux underground les plus pris\u00e9s de l\u2019hexagone : La Station – gare des Mines, Concrete, Dehors Brut, Kilom\u00e8tre25, Nexus <\/strong>ou encore Warehouse<\/strong> \u00e0 Nantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s un premier EP en 2019 sur Tripalium <\/strong>et \u2018Canal Energy\u2019 sur Minimum Syndicat<\/strong>, il devient le premier artiste ext\u00e9rieur \u00e0 signer sur le grand label Planet Phuture<\/strong>, du l\u00e9gendaire Marc Acardipane<\/strong> avec deux EPs \u2018Solar Ashes<\/strong>\u2019 et \u2018Good Riddance<\/strong>\u2019 \u00e0 l\u2019esth\u00e9tique rave et authentique, entre textures abrasives et synth\u00e9s analogiques old school – dont les artworks sont design\u00e9s par le grand NumberIII<\/strong>, cr\u00e9ateur du logo d\u2019Aphex Twin. Parall\u00e8lement, il sortait \u2018Cathode Ray Tunes\u2019<\/strong> sur Diffuse Reality et \u2018Dystopian Forces\u2019<\/strong> sur Kontrakult<\/strong> ainsi qu\u2019un remix du \u2018Gardez vos distances\u2019 de Paul Seul <\/strong>(Casual Gabberz).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sorti sur Astropolis Records <\/strong>au d\u00e9but 2023, son EP \u2018Animal Suicide<\/strong> \u2019 nous a offert deux beaux remixes de Legowelt<\/strong> et Cate Hortl<\/strong>. L\u2019EP s\u2019accompagne d\u2019un live AV enti\u00e8rement analogique \u00e0 la sc\u00e9nographie \u00e9lectrique et immersive. L\u2019artiste VJ Datatura<\/strong> habille la sc\u00e8ne de vielles TV empil\u00e9es et d\u2019un mapping laser, \u00e0 mi-chemin entre retro-gaming et \u00e2ge d\u2019or de l\u2019informatique, qui rendent le show unique. Reprenant tous les codes de la rave 90s, cette cr\u00e9ation explosive, color\u00e9e et acide travaill\u00e9e en r\u00e9sidence \u00e0 La Car\u00e8ne<\/strong> et au Carg\u00f6<\/strong> a d\u00e9j\u00e0 conquis les sc\u00e8nes d\u2019Astropolis<\/strong>, du Printemps de Bourges<\/strong> ou des Transmusicales<\/strong>. Un aller simple vers des paysages sonores dystopiques. F\u00e9ru.e.s de l\u2019esprit rave et des exp\u00e9rimentations, retenez bien ce nom !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rave music has a bright future ahead of it with the arrival of the Cuften <\/strong>tornado. A viking-geek with a passion for machines and sound tweaking, the Norman producer has fun deconstructing the rave aesthetic and old school sounds with his futuristic and singular vision. DJ since his teenage years, Cuften first started in free parties, before collecting old synthesizers and tinkering with his own production tools to deliver a music that comes from his guts: spontaneous, frontal and 100% analogical, just like his live machines that he orchestrates with an overflowing energy, camouflaged behind his hair moving according to his snares, kicks and drums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He quickly made a place for himself in the Parisian underground scene, with the support of artists such as Manu Le Malin, Marc Acardipane, Helena Hauff<\/strong> or Umwelt<\/strong>, and by setting fire to the dancefloors of the most popular underground venues in France: La Station – Gare des Mines<\/strong>, Concrete<\/strong>, Dehors Brut<\/strong>, Kilom\u00e8tre25<\/strong> or Nexus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, he released \u2018Cathode Ray Tunes<\/strong>\u2019 on Diffuse Reality and \u2018Dystopian Forces<\/strong>\u2019 on Kontrakult<\/strong>, as well as a remix of Paul Seul\u2019s \u2018Keep Your Distance\u2019 (Casual Gabberz<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Released on Astropolis Records<\/strong> in early 2023, his Animal Suicide<\/strong> EP offered us two beautiful remixes by Legowelt<\/strong> and Cate Hortl<\/strong>. The EP is accompanied by an all-analog live AV with an electric and immersive scenography. The VJ artist Datatura<\/strong> dresses the stage with old stacked TVs and laser mapping, halfway between retro-gaming and the golden age of computing, which makes the show unique. Taking up all the codes of the 90s rave, this explosive, colorful and acidic creation worked in residence at La Car\u00e8ne<\/strong> and Carg\u00f6<\/strong> has already conquered the stages of Astropolis<\/strong>, Printemps de Bourges<\/strong> or Transmusicales<\/strong>.
