Issu de la nouvelle génération de producteurs, Madben se fait un devoir de remercier les pionniers tout en déconstruisant leur oeuvre. Inspiré par les rois de Détroit, notre prince des machines manie les boutons comme son ombre donnant aux sons des distorsions maîtrisées à la perfection. Aussi à l’aise en DJ set qu’en live, on le voit jouer aux quatre coins de l’Europe (Concrete, Berghain, Printworks…) et embraser de grands festivals comme le Piknic Electronik, Awakenings, Nuits Sonores ou Offweek. Gardien éclairé de l’esprit rave, on ne compte plus ses nombreux remixes, ses multiples incursions dans les meilleurs labels du vieux continent et son investissement dans la scène électronique française, de son duo Trunkline avec Yann Lean à sa résidence sur Tsugi Radio. Bedrock, A-Traction, Traum, Cod3 QR, Off Recordings ou le label d’Anja Schneider Sous Music ont mis en bacs ses maxis mais c’est sur Astropolis Records, le label de sa maison-mère, qu’il sort son premier long format ‘Fréquence(s)’ en 2018, labyrinthe de 11 morceaux dans lequel il ne s’interdit rien, casse le rythme, goûte à chaque époque et collabore avec Laurent Garnier, Manu Le Malin et Rebeka Warrior. L’année suivante marque son arrivée sur le grand label de Maceo Plex, Ellum, sur lequel il signera deux EPs terriblement dansants et encensés par la critique internationale, ‘The Ceremony’ et ‘Blooming’. Une année qui voit également naître un nouveau live AV, ‘Exode’, à rebours de l’écriture musicale habituelle des lives. Le printemps 2023 voit éclore un nouvel album sur le désormais fidèle Ellum. Avec ‘Troisième Sens’, Madben offre une techno léchée, sombre et sensuelle. C’est par une composition progressive et contrastée, entre aplats de fumée et rythmiques acides, que se dévoile toute sa maestria. Madben est devenu au fil des ans un acteur incontournable de la scène européenne.

Inspired by the kings of Detroit, our prince of machines handles the buttons like his shadow, giving the sounds distortions mastered with perfection. As comfortable in DJ sets as he is in live performances, he can be seen playing all over Europe (Concrete, Berghain, Printworks…) and setting fire to major festivals such as Piknic Electronik, Awakenings, Nuits Sonores or Offweek. Enlightened guardian of the rave spirit, we can’t count his numerous remixes, his multiple forays into the best labels of the old continent and his investment in the French electronic scene, from his duo Trunkline with Yann Lean to his residency on Tsugi Radio. Bedrock, A-Traction, Traum, Cod3 QR, Off Recordings and Anja Schneider’s label Sous Music have released his EPs, but it was on Astropolis Records, his parent label, that he released his first full-length ‘Fréquence(s)’ in 2018, a labyrinth of 11 tracks in which he forbids himself nothing, breaks the rhythm, tastes each era and collaborates with Laurent Garnier, Manu Le Malin and Rebeka Warrior. The following year was marked by his arrival on Maceo Plex’s major label, Ellum, on which he signed two terrifically danceable EPs, ‘The Ceremony’ and ‘Blooming’, and a track on a 2021 various. This year also saw the release of a new live AV album, ‘Exode’, which was a departure from the usual live music writing style. Spring 2023 sees the birth of a new album on the now faithful Ellum. With ‘Troisième Sens’, Madben offers a polished, dark and sensual techno. It is by a progressive and contrasted composition, between layers of smoke and acid rhythmics, that all his mastery is revealed. Madben has become over the years an essential actor of the European scene.
